Kunyung Primary School is an authorised International Baccalaureate - Primary Years Programme (PYP) School which offers an exceptional, balanced education that builds on the diverse gifts and talents its students bring to our learning community.

Our school is set in a beautiful coastal environment overlooking Port Phillip Bay. Our 782 students enjoy access to modern, well-equipped facilities, which support quality classroom and specialist programs.

We have 72 staff members, 1 Principal class, 3 Assistant Principal Class, 59 teachers and 14 Education Support Staff. There are 34 Classrooms with 7 Prep classes, 10 Junior  classes, 5 Grade 3 classes, 4 Grade 4 classes and 5 Grade 5 classes and 4 Grade 6 classes. Subject specific specialist programs operate weekly in French, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, STEM, Library and Physical Education.

For students who experience difficulty with Literacy and Numeracy skills additional assistance is provided daily through a literacy and numeracy support program.

We have a reputation for high academic achievement; families value education and have high expectations. A strong nurturing and supportive environment promotes student engagement and wellbeing.

Peer mediation and leadership opportunities offer students further opportunities to develop resilience and problem solving skills. Our motivated students come well prepared for learning and a strong partnership between staff and parents supports student endeavours.

The School Council provide strong support for all aspects of school life.
 
Program Benefits 

This position may attract an incentive payment of $5,650 (pre-tax) for the successful candidate who meets the eligibility criteria set out under conditions of employment.

Conditions of Employment 

All staff employed by the Department and schools have access to a broad range of employment conditions and working arrangements. 

The appointment of successful applicants will be made subject to satisfactory pre-employment conditions check. 

A probationary period may apply during the first year of employment and induction and support programs provided. 

Eligibility for incentive payments: 

  • The successful candidate is committing to a minimum of 1 year employment at this school. 
  • The successful candidate will not be a Graduate Teacher Incentive recipient from a previous vacancy. 
  • The successful candidate must not be employed as a teacher by the Department at the time the advertised position is to commence.
