2026/27 KPMG Vacationer Program – Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG)

Help organisations create positive change for people, planet and communities. Our teams work across climate and sustainability, social impact, human rights, safety and wellbeing, and governance helping clients understand risks, design strategies and build more responsible and resilient organisations. You might be assessing sustainability data, contributing to climate risk analysis, evaluating social impact initiatives or supporting human rights reviews. If you’re driven by purpose, curious about how businesses can operate ethically, and keen to help clients navigate complex sustainability challenges, this pathway could be the right fit for you.

This pathway would suit students from:

  • Environmental Science or Environmental Management
  • Sustainability or Climate Science
  • Social Sciences (e.g., Human Geography, International Studies)
  • Public Policy or Development Studies
  • Engineering (Environmental, Chemical or related fields)
  • Business, Commerce or Economics with an interest in ESG
  • Law with an interest in human rights, governance or regulatory frameworks

The Work

Depending on your team, your work could include:

  • Analysing environmental or sustainability data to identify risks, opportunities or performance insights
  • Supporting climate‑related risk assessments or transition planning
  • Contributing to social impact reviews, program evaluations or stakeholder engagement
  • Assisting with human rights or safeguarding assessments
  • Helping develop or implement sustainability or ESG strategies
  • Reviewing governance frameworks, reporting processes or compliance requirements

You’ll gain exposure to projects across sectors including government, energy, transport, financial services, health, and the not-for-profit sector building strong analytical, problem‑solving and advisory skills while helping create meaningful impact.

About the Vacationer Program

  • For students in their second-last year of study in 2026 
  • Job offers made in May
  • Start work in November 2026 (typically, some teams have a slightly different schedule) with a 3-8 week role.  
  • Real work from the start so you can make an impact and learn straightaway
  • Opportunities to move directly into our graduate program: a one-year program after you graduate with targeted coaching, support and development.
