About Systems Engineering and Operations (SEO)

Our team is dedicated to designing and delivering cutting-edge technology solutions that enable nbn to build, connect, fix, operate and enhance services for our customers.

Every day, phone and internet providers, industry partners and teams across nbn depend on these technology solutions. Equally important is our commitment to ensuring that systems and applications consistently perform, remain available, and are secure for phone and internet providers, delivery partners and our internal teams.

What's in it for you?

Choose to specialise in a specific technical domain, such as software development, to deepen your expertise. Or you can rotate between different teams to gain a broader range of experiences. Some of the teams you can rotate through include Architecture, Infrastructure and Security, Digital Transformation, Customer and Products, Technology Enablement, Corporate, and Operations and Network.

We offer permanent, full-time positions based in our Melbourne (Docklands) and Sydney (North Sydney) offices.

What we look for in a graduate

We're looking for graduates with strong communication skills who can clearly explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders. You excel in problem-solving, approaching challenges creatively and analytically to find effective solutions. Your critical thinking abilities allow you to evaluate information and arguments logically, making informed decisions. As a self-driven individual, you're motivated, goal-oriented and able to work independently.

You'll have a degree or major in Engineering (Computer Systems, Network, Software, Telecommunications), Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Data Science or Analytics, or Mathematics.

To be eligible for our 2027 cohort you must meet the below eligibility criteria at the time of application:

  • You are a Citizen of Australia / New Zealand, or an Australian permanent resident; and
  • You are in your final year of university and due to complete your degree before the program commences, or; you have completed your final subject in the last 24 months; and
  • You are available to commence full time work from February 2027.
