Electrical Engineering Graduate

Electrical Engineering Graduate – Launch Your Engineering Career within Australia’s Digital Infrastructure Leader

NEXTDC is Australia’s leading data centre operator, powering the country’s digital future. As part of the NEXTDC Graduate Program 2027, you’ll join a high-performing Engineering & Design team that plays a key role in supporting our rapid growth and innovation. This is your opportunity to build deep capability while experiencing firsthand how a top ASX-listed technology company operates.

You’ll work alongside experienced designers, consultants, data centre operations and project delivery teams to gain hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of electrical design and delivery for mission-critical facilities. This is infrastructure that can’t fail and you’ll learn to design it that way.

What You’ll Work On

As a Graduate at NEXTDC, you’ll work alongside designers, consultants, facilities teams and project delivery specialists to gain hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of electrical systems within mission-critical facilities. From early project initiation and due diligence through to construction, testing, commissioning and operations, you’ll develop a practical understanding of how resilient digital infrastructure is designed, built and operated.

You’ll be involved in:

  • Designing resilient power infrastructure
  • Applying redundancy principles and backup power strategies
  • Supporting load management and capacity planning
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of engineering standard

You will gain end-to-end exposure across project initiation, design and due diligence, through to facility construction, testing and commissioning, as well as operations, upgrades and lifecycle plant replacement. Along the way, you will work with leading designers, cutting-edge technology, and contribute to building the next generation of digital infrastructure across projects in Australia and internationally.

Day-To-Day, you'll be involved in:

  • Assisting with electrical design tasks including cable sizing, routing, lighting design, and documenting backup power systems
  • Participating in feasibility assessments, due diligence, construction support, commissioning witnessing and Integrated Systems Testing (IST)
  • Reviewing documentation and supporting customer fit‑out assessments
  • Working with suppliers to understand new technologies and their application in next‑gen designs
  • Supporting capacity tracking, power flow analysis and data maintenance
  • Collaborating across Engineering & Design, Capital Works, Facilities Management, Central Operations and Sales
  • Communicating progress, risks and issues clearly to stakeholders
