You’ll join a passionate in-house legal team working on high-profile deals and strategic projects across Australia and Southeast Asia. From corporate and regulatory matters to complex international transactions, this is the kind of breadth most graduates don’t see in their early careers.
What You’ll Work On
You’ll play a key role in supporting our legal operations, contract management and compliance framework. We’ll also support you in completing a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice and being admitted to practice. You’ll see how AI is beginning to reshape legal research, contract review and compliance and you’ll be part of shaping how we adopt these tools.
This is a unique opportunity to work alongside a passionate in-house legal team on high profile deals and strategic projects across Australia and Southeast Asia.
Day-To-Day, you'll be involved in
- Providing effective legal and administrative support to the Legal Team
- Preparing, reviewing, negotiating and managing a wide range of contracts under supervision
- Conducting legal research in areas such as contract law, property law, employment law, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance
- Providing practical legal advice across a range of corporate matters to support commercially sound decision‑making that is accessible to non-legal staff
- Communicating with stakeholders under the guidance of senior lawyers, preparing reports, and assisting with stakeholder enquiries
- Engaging in networking opportunities within the legal profession and participating in in-house discussions
- Developing and maintaining current knowledge in relation to NEXTDC’s business (including policies and procedures)
- Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Who We’re Looking For
This program is built for graduates who want to kick-start a meaningful legal career in one of Australia’s fastest-growing industries. We’re looking for the kind of person who combines sharp legal thinking with commercial awareness.
You’ll thrive in this role if you demonstrate:
- High degree of integrity, professionalism and trust
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent drafting skills, and high attention to detail
- Ability to work independently on tasks as well as within a team, build relationships with other business functions and become a trusted advisor (legal, finance, compliance etc)
- Working knowledge of the fundamental legal provisions of commercial contracts
- Previous experience in a law firm or an in-house legal / paralegal role (valuable but not essential)
- Curiosity about data centres and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, and an interest in developing a legal career as an in‑house practitioner.
Eligibility & Preferred Backgrounds
- Be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident
- Have completed your most recent undergraduate or postgraduate degree within the last 3 years of the program start date (February 2027)
- Be ready to commence full time work at the program start date in February 2027
- Bachelor of Laws / Juris Doctor
- Eligible for admission, subject to completion of the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice
