What is International Jobs?

International Jobs is a job portal where overseas employers can proactively target students and graduates who are studying at overseas universities. Employers often look for international students and permanent residents because they bring a unique set of skills, experience and knowledge.

The portal is hosted by GradConnection, who actively seeks these job opportunities for international students and permanent residents.

Often students studying abroad don’t know about the recruiting efforts of many companies back in their own or neighbouring countries. If you are an AUT international student or student with New Zealand Permanent Residency, International Jobs is a great way to stay up to date with the thousands of roles available for students and graduates like you.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

International jobs can be an excellent way to gain global exposure and experience within your chosen field of study whether you are a New Zealand Permanent Resident or an international student studying at AUT. However, because these job opportunities are outside New Zealand, you will be accountable to the laws of the country in which your job takes. It is up to you to directly contact a potential employer if you have any queries or concerns before you accept an offer. You also need to ensure you meet all the visa and eligibility requirements before you apply

1. How does this work?

As current AUT students with New Zealand Permanent Residency or International student, you have access to the system using the Single Sign On.

If you have recently graduated, you will need to request an Alumni account. It is important you have all your correct details so we can verify your study at AUT because this portal is only for AUT international students and permanent residents.

These jobs are sourced by GradConnection. AUT Employability and Careers does not manage these opportunities. We are making this portal available because we wanted to open up extra employment opportunities for students looking for options back in their home country.

2. Why can’t I login?

You need to be an AUT student with New Zealand Permanent Residency or an International Student to be able to use the system.

3. Why am I receiving notifications about jobs in other countries?

Some employers are looking for returning students from countries surrounding your own and will select all relevant countries of citizenship.

4. I am a New Zealand Citizen and I want to work overseas – why can’t I sign up?

Unfortunately due to external constraints we are unable to include New Zealand Citizens at this stage. Keep in mind, these roles are from employers who are seeking students who have studied overseas and looking to return home and will have the right to work in the country.
